The Banten Provincial Leadership Council (DPW) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) is utilising the post-Eid al-Fitr halal bihalal momentum to strengthen internal consolidation and expedite the establishment of party structures down to the grassroots level. This is part of preparations for the 2029 General Elections. Chairman of the PSI Banten Advisory Board, Ian Pribadi, stated that the halal bihalal event is not merely ceremonial but also includes consolidation agendas as a follow-up to directives from the Central Leadership Council (DPP). “This halal bihalal serves as a momentum following Ramadan activities, and we continue with consolidation efforts. This aligns with the DPP’s directives, which have previously conducted similar activities,” Ian said, quoted on Monday, 20 April 2026. According to Ian, PSI Banten’s primary focus is strengthening the party organisation’s structure at the grassroots level. He noted that the Branch Leadership Council (DPC) structures in Banten are fully formed, while the establishment of branch structures at the lower level has reached an average of 70 percent. “Currently, the DPC structure is 100 percent complete. We will focus on accelerating the formation of branch structures. Based on reports, it has averaged 70 percent,” he said. Ian is optimistic that the party structure formation can be completed within the next one to two months. Additionally, PSI Banten targets an increase in legislative seats in the 2029 General Elections. Currently, PSI holds three seats in the Banten Provincial DPRD from the Tangerang Raya region. “Of course, we have big targets. Currently, we only have seats in the Tangerang Raya area, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City. In the future, insyaallah, we will increase that,” Ian remarked. PSI General Secretary, Raja Juli Antoni, added that the party recorded an increase in the previous election and hopes the trend continues. “In the last election, PSI increased by 200 percent, from one seat to three seats. In 2029, it must increase by 200 percent again, meaning at least nine seats in the Banten Provincial DPRD,” he said. He also conveyed PSI’s national-level targets, hoping that Banten can contribute three seats to the DPR RI. Meanwhile, Banten Governor Andra Soni views the consolidation efforts by PSI as a normal aspect of political party dynamics.
