PSBM XXVI Becomes Momentum for Strengthening the Saudagar Network, Andi Rukman - parepos

The 26th Meeting of Bugis Makassar Merchants (PSBM) is once again being held as a strategic forum to strengthen camaraderie and networks among business actors originating from South Sulawesi across Indonesia. The event will take place on 25–26 March 2026 at Hotel Claro Makassar and is expected to be attended by around 1,500 merchants from various regions and even abroad.

Deputy Chair of the Investment and Employment Sector at BPP KKSS, Andi Rukman N. Karumpa, emphasised that PSBM is not merely a routine gathering but a space for economic consolidation that has been running for nearly three decades.

“This Meeting of Bugis Makassar Merchants has been ongoing for nearly three decades. Its purpose is to strengthen camaraderie as well as the networks of merchants, and it is usually held after the Eid al-Fitr holiday,” said Andi Rukman.

He assessed that this year’s PSBM implementation has greater potential to drive cross-sector collaboration. This is supported by the presence of several important figures at the national and regional levels.

“This PSBM can be more effective because it will be attended by nine governors originating from South Sulawesi as well as nine ministers and deputy ministers in the Prabowo Cabinet. This becomes a great opportunity for business actors in various sectors to expand networks and develop their businesses,” he explained.

According to him, the PSBM forum can serve as a strategic meeting point between business actors, government, and various stakeholders in strengthening the network-based economic ecosystem of merchants.
