PT Prudential Sharia Life Assurance (Prudential Syariah) has won the Indonesia Best Sharia Life Insurance 2026 award at the Indonesia Sharia and Halal Top Brand Awards 2026. The award was presented in the Sharia Life Insurance category under the theme of Inclusive Protection Solutions through Continuous Innovation.

The recognition affirms Prudential Syariah’s position as one of the pioneers of innovation in Indonesia’s sharia life insurance industry. The company has been assessed as consistently delivering protective solutions that are relevant and inclusive for society.

Chief Customer Marketing Officer of Prudential Syariah, Vivin Arbianti Gautama, stated that the award serves as motivation for the company to continue expanding access to sharia insurance.

“This award is inseparable from good collaboration amongst participants, marketing personnel, and business partners to continue expanding public access to sharia insurance. This serves as a reminder to us that innovation must continue to demonstrate its benefits and become increasingly accessible,” said Vivin in a statement.

She added that the company will continue to deliver protective solutions that are relevant to various segments of society. “Moving forward, our focus is on delivering protective solutions that truly stem from participant needs, not merely trends. Not just new products, but protection that is well-targeted, inclusive, and affordable,” she said.

Amid rising Islamic financial literacy, the challenge of inclusion remains a pressing issue. Data from the National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2025 noted that the level of sharia financial literacy increased from 39.11 per cent in 2024 to 43.42 per cent in 2025. However, the inclusion rate rose only slightly from 12.88 per cent to 13.41 per cent, whilst sharia insurance penetration remains below 1 per cent.

To address these challenges, Prudential Syariah has introduced several products, including PRUHeritage Sharia Essential Plan and PRUHeritage Sharia USD for life protection and inheritance planning, PRUCritical Amanah for critical illness coverage, and PRUSafar Plan for pilgrimage travel protection.

In the health sector, the company offers PRUWell Medical Sharia with fair pricing concepts and PRUSehat Sharia targeting the younger generation.

Beyond product innovation, Prudential Syariah is expanding its distribution channels through more than 80,000 marketing personnel across Indonesia equipped with the Sharia Way of Selling concept. The company is also strengthening its bancassurance channel through cooperation with PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) to reach more than 22 million customers.

To enhance financial literacy, Prudential Syariah has established the Sharia Knowledge Centre (SKC) as a hub for Islamic economic information. The company is also active on social media with digital reach of 3 million accounts and partners with communities, universities, and Islamic organisations such as Nahdlatul Ulama, Al-Azhar, and Muhammadiyah for literacy and social programmes that have reached approximately 300,000 people.

In terms of performance, as of the third quarter of 2025, Prudential Syariah’s total contribution grew by 7 per cent annually to Rp2.9 trillion. The solvency level (Risk Based Capital/RBC) was recorded at 2,328 per cent for Company Funds and 197 per cent for Tabarru’ Funds, above regulatory requirements. In the same period, the company paid out claims and benefits totalling Rp1.5 trillion.

“We are optimistic that with the innovation and product services we offer, we can reach more Indonesian families and continue to be the market leader in sharia life insurance joint ventures in Indonesia,” Vivin concluded.
