Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Prudential Sharia Life Assurance (Prudential Syariah) has partnered with the Al-Azhar Islamic Foundation (YPI) to hold sharia financial literacy activities through the Festival 1000 Berkah during Ramadan 2026.

Prudential Syariah President Director Iskandar Ezzahuddin said the event, running from 19 February to 14 March 2026 at the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque complex in South Jakarta, also features business opportunity consultations and financial planning assistance based on sharia principles to meet the needs of today's Muslim community.

"This commitment is in line with our mission to expand access to sharia-based finance and improve financial literacy among Indonesian families," he said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

In addition, he continued, the programme also provides protection solutions that deliver not only financial peace of mind but also sustainable social impact.

In keeping with this commitment, he added that the Festival 1000 Berkah serves as the opening programme in a series of sharia financial literacy and inclusion initiatives by Prudential Syariah throughout 2026.

"The Ramadan period was chosen as the starting point to deliver an educational approach that is closer to the community, before continuing through various programmes in a number of cities across Indonesia," he said.

Iskandar stressed that the effort forms part of the company's ongoing contribution to broadening public understanding of and access to sharia-based financial services.

He noted that according to the 2025 National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK) by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the level of sharia financial literacy stood at 43.4 per cent with an inclusion rate of 13.4 per cent, indicating substantial room for strengthening sharia education and protection access in Indonesia.

Since establishing their partnership in 2023, the two institutions have consistently delivered dozens of collaborative programmes across various regions, encompassing sharia financial literacy programmes for congregants and families, social activities supporting communities in need, support for religious programmes and Ramadan education, as well as strengthening community-based social welfare values.

To date, the collaboration has reached nearly 5,000 beneficiaries, further reinforcing the role of both institutions in delivering sustainable social impact.

The commitment of both institutions is also realised through support for women, who in many families serve as financial managers whilst also contributing to household income. Through sharia financial education programmes for women, the two institutions have reached thousands of beneficiaries, encouraging more women to be confident in managing their finances and planning their families' futures in a more structured manner.

Going forward, both institutions are committed to continuing to strengthen their synergy in delivering programmes that are relevant, inclusive and broadly impactful, whilst also fostering the development of a sustainable sharia-based financial and social ecosystem in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Festival 1000 Berkah, which also features dozens of local MSME culinary stalls, is expected to attract at least 30,000 visitors over its 23-day run.
