Jakarta (ANTARA) - Prudential Syariah successfully obtained an Annualized Premium Equivalent (APE), or Annual Premium Equivalent, of around Rp1 trillion and a market share of approximately 22 percent from the overall sharia life insurance industry during 2025. President Director of Prudential Syariah, Iskandar Ezzahuddin, citing data from the Indonesia Life Insurance Association (AAJI), stated that throughout 2025, the sharia life insurance industry recorded a total APE of Rp4.7 trillion, growing 13 percent from the previous year. The growth of sharia life insurance, he continued in his statement in Jakarta on Friday, is also evident from the total number of insured participants in the same year, reaching 24.5 million. “Supported by an APE achievement of around Rp1 trillion and a market share of approximately 22 percent, this positions us as the leader in the sharia life insurance industry in the country,” he said. However, this surge in literacy has not yet been fully matched by sharia insurance penetration, which remains below 1 percent, he added. With more than 65 million households in Indonesia and millions among them still not optimally protected, according to him, this situation opens up growth opportunities and significant potential for the sharia life insurance industry. Therefore, Iskandar stated that moving forward, the company is committed to continuing to contribute to the overall growth of Indonesia’s sharia insurance industry. This, he added, will be done by building broader understanding in society, presenting simple, relevant, and high-quality sharia protection solutions, and strengthening distribution networks so that access to protection becomes easier to reach all levels of society.
