PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) continues to conduct a thorough review of its investment allocation in Bank Indonesia Rupiah Securities (SRBI). This step is taken considering current market dynamics and the company’s internal needs.

This portfolio evaluation policy runs in parallel with Bank Indonesia’s (BI) proactive steps in adjusting market interest rate structures by increasing the yield on SRBI. As reported by Keuangan on Thursday, May 14, 2026, BI’s actions aim to protect the rupiah’s exchange rate from the effects of global geopolitical uncertainty.

The company’s management affirmed that every decision regarding new fund placements in these monetary instruments will always go through a thorough analysis process.

“Every potential addition or initiation of allocation in instruments such as SRBI will continue to be carefully reviewed. We are actively making adjustments to investment allocations in accordance with market dynamics and the company’s internal needs,” said Chief Financial Officer of Prudential Indonesia, Adit Trivedi, to Kontan, Thursday (May 14, 2026).

According to Adit, fluctuations in the proportion of fund placements are an integral part of a diversification strategy to optimize the investment portfolio. This process is influenced by risk profiles, liquidity availability, and the emergence of investment opportunities in other sectors.

A strict asset allocation guideline serves as the main reference for Prudential Indonesia in placing investment funds, including in money market instruments and government securities.

“In addition, we consider various factors, such as compatibility with portfolio strategy, as well as the returns that can be offered by the targeted investment instrument,” said Adit.

Based on data from the company’s official financial reports, Prudential Indonesia had placed funds of IDR 311.16 billion in SRBI instruments as of March 2025. However, investment records in these instruments showed a zero balance or were no longer allocated as of March 2026.

Overall, the total investments recorded by Prudential Indonesia reached IDR 53.72 trillion as of March 2026. Placement in equity instruments was the most dominant with a value of IDR 26.18 trillion as of March 2026, followed by investment in Government Bonds (SBN) amounting to IDR 14.03 trillion.
