Prudential Indonesia is carefully considering its investment allocation in the SRBI instrument following Bank Indonesia’s (BI) proactive measures to safeguard the Rupiah against global geopolitical uncertainties. BI has adjusted the structure of market interest rates by increasing the yield of SRBI instruments.

In response to these developments, PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) stated that it continues to carefully evaluate its investment allocation in SRBI instruments. The company is considering several strategic factors, including evolving market dynamics and internal corporate needs.

“Any potential increase or initiation of allocation in instruments such as SRBI will continue to be carefully evaluated. We are actively making adjustments to our investment allocations in line with market dynamics and the company’s internal needs,” said Chief Financial Officer of Prudential Indonesia, Adit Trivedi, to Keuangan on Thursday (14/5/2026).

Adit Trivedi added that changes in the proportion of investments are part of a strategy to diversify and optimise the company’s portfolio. This step is taken by considering risk profiles, liquidity needs, and other investment opportunities available in the market.

The placement of investment instruments by Prudential Indonesia, including in money market instruments or government bonds, is always carried out in accordance with the company’s established asset allocation guidelines.

“In addition, we consider various factors, such as compatibility with portfolio strategy, as well as the returns that can be offered by the targeted investment instruments,” said Adit.

According to the company’s financial report on its official website, Prudential Indonesia had allocated investments in SRBI amounting to IDR 311.16 billion as of March 2025. However, this life insurance company is no longer recorded as having an investment allocation in SRBI instruments as of March 2026.

Overall, Prudential Indonesia booked total investments of IDR 53.72 trillion as of March 2026. Placement in equity instruments dominates the portfolio with a value reaching IDR 26.18 trillion as of March 2026, followed by placement in Government Securities (SBN) amounting to IDR 14.03 trillion.
