PRSI chairman Thantawi dies

JAKARTA: Chairman of the Indonesian Swimming Association
(PRSI) Datuk Hakim Thantawi, 57, died of a heart attack on
Wednesday night at Pertamina Hospital.

Datuk was the current PRSI chair for the 2004-2006 term, as
well as chairman of the Indonesian Dance Council (IODI) and the
Indonesian Sports Society (FOMI).

His funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at Karet Bivak
Cemetery in Central Jakarta.

PRSI secretary-general Abdurrahim said Thantawi's successor
would be determined at a later date. -- JP
