PRR Task Force Strengthens Cross-Sector Coordination for Permanent Housing Provision
The Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) in Sumatra continues to strengthen cross-party coordination to accelerate the provision of land for permanent housing (huntap) for communities affected by disasters, including in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh. This step is taken so that the construction process can commence immediately and survivors can obtain safe and decent housing.
The effort was discussed in an online coordination meeting involving the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government and the Satgas PRR on Thursday, 25 June 2026. The meeting focused on following up on the provision of land originating from a plantation area under a Cultivation Rights Title (HGU), as well as seeking solutions to a number of obstacles still faced in the field.
Deputy Head of the Satgas PRR Data Command Post II, Colonel Tamimi Hendra Kesuma, explained that the Aceh Tamiang regional government is currently prioritising two locations to support the target of building 2,212 permanent housing units planned by the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas this year. However, the land provision process still requires alignment with various parties.
‘Satgas PRR has requested confirmation from the regional government regarding the progress of the permanent housing land provision. We will also send a copy of the official letter from the company to the regional government to verify the coordinate points in the field,’ Tamimi stated in a written release on Sunday (28/6/2026).
‘If there are objections to the location offered, the regional government is asked to prepare a rational written argument as a basis for further mediation,’ he continued.
The meeting also discussed the importance of ensuring that the permanent housing location meets safety and settlement feasibility aspects. Therefore, Satgas PRR has asked the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government to immediately obtain an official recommendation from the Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) to confirm that the chosen location is in an area safe from potential disaster threats.
In addition, the Satgas PRR and the regional government will conduct field verification of several alternative locations offered. ‘The survey results will serve as the basis for determining the next steps, so that the construction of permanent housing can proceed without neglecting aspects of safety, accessibility, and the sustainability of community life,’ he explained.
Tamimi emphasised that accelerating land provision requires synergy from all parties. Therefore, Satgas PRR will continue to facilitate communication between the regional government, relevant ministries and agencies, and the company so that every obstacle can be resolved through deliberation and based on field data.
As a follow-up, the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government is scheduled to hold a plenary meeting on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, inviting all stakeholders, including the company, the National Land Agency, and Satgas PRR. The forum is expected to produce a collective step to accelerate the provision of land for the construction of permanent housing.
Satgas PRR has confirmed that it will continue to oversee the process until the best solution is achieved. ‘With collaboration from all parties, it is hoped that the provision of land for permanent housing can be realised immediately, so that disaster-affected communities in Aceh Tamiang can more quickly occupy safe, decent, and sustainable permanent housing,’ he concluded.
