The Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR) has explained the progress of handling areas affected by flash floods and landslides in Sumatra. The Task Force noted that while some construction projects have been completed, others are still ongoing.

“As of today, 5 October 202pend, the construction of national roads and national bridges is 100% complete. Meanwhile, the development of regional roads and bridges is still in progress, with several stages already implemented,” stated the Spokesperson for Satgas PRR, Amran, during a press conference at the Ministry of Home Affairs Headquarters, Central Jakarta, on Monday (5/10/2026).

Amran explained that the progress of temporary housing (Huntara) across three provinces has reached 99%. However, the development of permanent housing (Huntap) is still underway and requires a longer process.

“Regarding temporary housing, our records show a plan for 20,803 units, with 20,700 units already completed,” he said. “As for permanent housing, the process is ongoing, and we certainly hope to complete it as soon as possible.”

As of 5 October, the progress of permanent housing construction has only reached 3.26%. Amran explained that this is due to the complexities of land preparation and physical house construction.

“It does require a somewhat lengthy process because the construction stages are continuous, from land preparation to the physical building of the houses,” he added.

Amran reported that health facilities, educational facilities, and places of worship are 100% functionally operational. Other essential services, such as electricity, petrol stations, LPG supplies, and communication networks, have also been restored.

He stated that social assistance in the form of Housing Waiting Funds (DTH) has been 100% disbursed. Furthermore, Amran noted that housing contents assistance worth Rp 465 billion, subsistence allowances worth Rp 674 billion, and economic stimulants worth Rp 764 billion have been distributed.

“The Housing Waiting Fund (DTH) has been 100% disbursed across all provinces,” he said.

Economic recovery through the reactivation of local markets affected by the disaster has also reached nearly 90%. MSME transactions and e-commerce have returned to normal, reaching 40.6 million transactions.

“MSMEs are also seeing continuous improvement; in August, 40,634,395 transactions were recorded. This indicates a return to normalcy for both e-commerce transactions and e-commerce products,” he said.

The recovery of paddy fields as well as the marine and fisheries sectors is also underway. Amran revealed that the overall recovery is targeted to be completed within three years.

“Regarding this progress, we have a timeframe of three years to complete it. This is our target. From now on, we are optimistic given the current progress, where some areas are at 100% and others are at 90%, with only a small portion remaining to be caught up,” he concluded.
