Jakarta — The Satgas Percepatan Rehabilitasi dan Rekonstruksi Pascabencana Sumatera (PRR) has revived public health facilities to support health services for disaster survivors in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. According to Satgas PRR as of 4 March, government hospitals affected by the disasters have all returned to operation, totaling 87 across the three provinces. Similarly, all affected Puskesmas have resumed operations, amounting to 867 in the three provinces.

However, the PRR is still working to reactivate the affected Puskesmas Pembantu (Pustu). A total of 2,522 Pustu were affected, with 176 of them having ceased operations as of 1 December 2025. Currently, 21 Pustu remain non-operational and are undergoing cleaning, renovation or new construction. The 21 Pustu are distributed as 12 in Aceh and 9 in North Sumatra, with detailed facility names provided by the PRR.

Meanwhile, in West Sumatra, of the 709 affected Pustu, 49 had temporarily stopped operating as of 1 December 2025; all affected Pustu have now resumed operation. Previously, the Task Force Chair Muhammad Tito Karnavian, who is also the Coordinating Ministry for Home Affairs, stated that health services have returned to operation in the three provinces, thanks to accelerated rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts carried out by the central government in coordination with local administrations and non-governmental partners. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the Satgas and the Steering Board for the hard work of all participants.
