PRR Task Force: Recovery of Places of Worship in Aceh Reaches 98 Percent
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Task Force for Accelerating Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) has reported that the recovery of infrastructure for places of worship, including mosques and prayer rooms, in Aceh has reached 98 percent. Based on data from the Satgas PRR received by ANTARA in Banda Aceh on Wednesday, 918 worship facilities affected by the disaster in Aceh have been impacted, and as of 6 April 2026, 906 of them have resumed operations, with 12 others yet to be made functional. “So, according to the data, the percentage for the repair of worship facilities is nearly 98 percent,” said the Head of the Regional Post of the Satgas PRR, Safrizal ZA. “This is a challenge for us with the remaining 12 to carry out repairs as soon as possible. Unless they are severely damaged, they might not be able to be done immediately,” Safrizal added. Furthermore, for the regencies/cities, he continued, apart from four specific areas, all worship facilities have already been functioning or operational again. “During the emergency response period, we, together with the Task Force, cleaned, repainted mosques and prayer rooms, and loudspeakers were provided,” said Safrizal. For information, based on Satgas PRR data, rehabilitation assistance funds for worship facilities in Aceh have been disbursed for 85 mosques/prayer rooms with a total budget of Rp750 million, while the remaining 833 are still in process.
