PRR Task Force: Post-disaster recovery in Aceh conducted transparently
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - Head of the Regional Post of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR), Safrizal ZA, has stated that the entire process of implementing post-disaster recovery activities in Aceh is being carried out transparently.
“Nothing is hidden. Everything is open. I have said many times that this entire process is transparent. All data can be accessed. If anyone needs data, let us know. This is a manifestation of the PRR Task Force’s commitment,” he said in Banda Aceh on Saturday.
He explained that post-disaster development in Aceh following the Sumatra hydrometeorological disaster has been set out in the Sumatra Post-Disaster Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Master Plan (Renduk PRRP) 2026-2028. Recovery and rebuilding of Aceh is being carried out over a three-year period.
According to him, this timeframe is shorter than the recovery of Aceh following the 2004 earthquake and tsunami. At that time, rebuilding the disaster-affected areas took eight years.
“Everything is in accordance with the stages of post-disaster management. In fact, to rebuild Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, a blueprint has been prepared called the Renduk PRRP 2026-2028. All parties can access it,” he said.
Post-disaster reconstruction following the Sumatra hydrometeorological disaster is being carried out in parallel by 30 ministries and agencies, with assistance from the private sector. All are working according to their respective duties and functions. The Task Force for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) is responsible for coordination, following up on commitments, and other matters.
He explained that based on data as of 8 August 2026, the number of boreholes completed in Aceh has reached 511 units, plus 259 boreholes with bathing, washing, and toilet facilities (MCK). The total is 770 units.
In addition, optimisation of paddy fields with minor damage has reached 6,706 hectares. Rehabilitation of damaged paddy fields has reached 4,393 hectares.
The allocation of living allowances provided to survivors amounts to Rp576,705,250,000, received by 118,594 people. Temporary shelters (huntara) built number 18,916 units, while 18,874 units are already occupied. Permanent housing (huntap) ready for construction totals 309 units.
“In the plan based on the Renduk PRRP 2026-2028, the construction of permanent housing will be partially completed this year, and partially next year,” he said.
Regional transfer funds (TKD) from the central government to regional governments amount to Rp1,986,498,068,502. As of 16 July 2026, TKD funds used for physical implementation cover 346 packages, or approximately Rp337.29 billion, around 40 percent.
In addition, mud handling has been completed at 650 locations. Road works under central government authority cover 46 sections, all of which are now functional, while 1,545 sections under regional authority are functional. A further 93 sections are under construction and not yet functional. Bridge construction targets 676 units, of which 188 have been completed and the remaining 490 are in progress.
Dam construction targets 54 units, comprising two completed and 52 in progress. Of 31 river management locations, 14 have been completed and 17 are in progress. Irrigation areas targeted for repair number 67, with one completed and 66 in progress. Estuary management targets 23 locations, with two completed and 21 in progress. Of the 676 bridges targeted, 188 have been completed and 490 are in progress.
For housing stimulus, as of 12 August 2026, transfers from BNPB to BPBD have reached Rp653,700,000,000, while transfers from BPBD to recipient accounts total Rp595,215,000,000. Realisation of use in the field amounts to Rp368,616,946,000.
Housing waiting funds, furniture funds, death compensation, and medical expenses for injured survivors have been almost 100 percent disbursed in accordance with verification data from BNPB and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
He said that thanks to the support of all parties, the emergency response phase has been passed, and Aceh is now entering the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase.
