Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Sumatra Disaster has handed over stimulus aid for repairing homes damaged by the hydrometeorological disaster from Cyclone Senyar Phase II in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh. According to a statement from the PRR Task Force in Jakarta on Wednesday, the handover was conducted by the Head of the PRR Task Force, who is also the Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, alongside the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno. The activity forms part of the central government’s commitment to accelerate the post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction process in the affected areas. The aid was handed over symbolically to 13 family heads, witnessed by Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah. The PRR Task Force also delivered five fire pump units to the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government, received directly by Regent Armia Fahmi, as support for environmental recovery efforts carried out jointly with IPDN cadets. The Head of the Aceh Regional Command Post (Kaposwil) for the PRR Task Force Post-Sumatra Disaster, Safrizal Zakaria Ali, stated that the stimulus aid for home repairs represents a concrete step by the government to support the social and economic recovery of affected communities. “This aid not only reflects the presence of the state but also embodies a collective commitment to ensure that the community recovers quickly and returns to normal activities,” he said. In total, the aid distributed covers 2,336 units of lightly damaged houses, 1,722 units of moderately damaged houses, and 1,889 units of severely damaged houses, with the majority falling into the light damage category. The distribution of aid is focused on four significantly impacted sub-districts, namely Rantau, Karang Baru, Bandar Pusaka, and Bendahara. Rantau Sub-district recorded the highest number of aid recipients, followed by Karang Baru, Bandar Pusaka, and Bendahara. Following the event, the Head of the PRR Task Force and the entourage held a friendly gathering and lunch with IPDN cadets and the local community. The series of working visits concluded with the Head of the PRR Task Force departing for Medan City for further agenda, accompanied by the Aceh PRR Kaposwil.
