Jakarta, VIVA – The Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) Post-Disaster Sumatra continues to ensure that survivors of hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra can live more decently and comfortably in temporary housing (huntara) while waiting for the completion of permanent housing (huntap). Not only accelerating the construction of huntara, Satgas PRR also ensures that basic facilities and logistical support remain available so that the daily needs of the affected communities can be met during the recovery period. Based on Satgas PRR data as of 6 May 2026, the total huntara units completed in the three affected provinces reached 19,169 units or equivalent to 93 percent of the target of 20,433 units. In Aceh Province, huntara construction has reached 17,315 units out of a target of 18,579 units or 93 percent. Meanwhile, huntara construction in North Sumatra and West Sumatra has been fully completed, with 1,024 units and 830 units respectively, or 100 percent of the set targets. Spokesperson for Satgas PRR, Amran, said that huntara construction involves many parties, from ministries and government institutions to communities and non-governmental elements that help accelerate disaster survivor handling. “We have many parties involved as implementers. Not only from BNPB, but also from Danantara, PU, and several other parties that are helping, including some communities. Overall, this is still in process,” said Amran during the Satgas PRR press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026). He explained that the progress of huntara construction is still ongoing in several locations where the work is carried out in stages according to field conditions. “Indeed, the progress of this data, the remaining 7 percent is currently under construction,” he stated. In addition to ensuring temporary housing is available, Satgas PRR is also distributing various logistical aids to support the comfort of survivors while living in huntara.
