PRR Task Force Continues to Promote Realisation of Livelihood Guarantees to Empower Survivors Further
The Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Disaster Sumatra continues to enhance the distribution of various social assistance (bansos) to sustain the lives of survivors following floods and landslides in Aceh Province, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar). The distributed bansos include livelihood guarantee aid (jadup), housing contents aid, as well as social and economic stimuli. These aid packages are provided to support accelerated recovery while helping meet the economic needs of disaster survivors. Daily reports from the PRR Task Force as of 6 April record that the distribution of jadup, housing contents, and economic stimuli aid has reached 60,373 souls out of a total planned allocation of 66,008 souls. The total disbursed funds amount to Rp483.959.85 billion. In detail, Aceh recorded the highest realisation with distribution reaching 47,483 souls and total disbursed funds of Rp366.298 billion. In Sumut, aid has reached 11,091 souls with total funds of Rp101.371.3 billion. Then in Sumbar, aid has reached 1,799 souls with total funds of Rp16.290.550 billion. The jadup distribution scheme is provided at Rp15,000 per soul/day for three months. Meanwhile, housing contents aid is distributed at Rp3 million per family head. Economic and social stimuli aid is given at Rp5 million per family. Jadup, housing contents, and economic stimuli aid are one of the post-disaster aid schemes provided to ensure the continuity of survivors’ lives. This step is taken to ensure that the recovery process not only touches physical infrastructure but also the community’s purchasing power, which must recover post-disaster. In addition, to complement the basic needs of disaster survivors, the PRR Task Force is also disbursing Temporary Housing Waiting Funds (DTH) for survivors who do not choose to live in temporary housing (huntara). The amount of DTH aid disbursed is Rp600,000 per month for a period of three months, so each family head receives a total of Rp1.8 million. To date, all DTH recipient accounts have received fund transfers with a distribution rate of 100 percent for 14,775 recipients in the three provinces. The details are 8,709 recipients in Aceh, then 4,162 in Sumut, and 1,904 in Sumbar.
