PRR Task Force: 12 Affected Regions Have Submitted Permanent Housing Data, Other Local Governments Urged to Follow Suit
The Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Sumatra Disaster has announced developments in local government (pemda) proposals regarding the submission of permanent housing (huntap) data.
As of mid-April 2026, 12 local governments have completed the submission of huntap data, while eight other regions did not submit proposals because no houses were found in the categories of severely damaged or lost.
Head of the PRR Task Force, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, explained that out of a total of 53 affected regencies/cities in Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar), the data collection focus is now narrowed to 45 regions that have huntap needs.
“Those that did not submit huntap proposals because there were no severely damaged or lost houses number eight, so we are focusing on 45 regions. Twelve have already been received, meaning we are still pursuing 33 more within this week,” he stated in a written statement received by Kompas.com on Thursday (16/4/2026).
This was conveyed by Tito after attending a coordination meeting on huntap data collection in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4/2026).
The central government targets that this process can run parallel with field verification so that construction is not delayed.
“Construction (by) the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) greatly depends on the speed of data. So, we request data from local governments and I give a deadline until next Wednesday,” Tito stressed.
The former Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) also reminded that regions that complete the data faster will be prioritised in the implementation of huntap construction.
This is done to ensure that the recovery process continues progressively and is not hindered by administrative delays.
To accelerate the data collection process, the PRR Task Force encourages regional heads to form small teams that directly go to the field to verify the condition of survivors’ houses in detail.
In line with that, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has confirmed that the verification and validation process of huntap proposal data has begun.
Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar, stated that data from several regions has been received and verified.
“To date, we have received 12 regencies/cities that have submitted their huntap decrees (SK) and these have been verified and validated by us,” she explained.
