PRR channels Rp86 billion stimulus funds for phase II to Bireuen disaster victims
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The government, through the Sumatra Disaster Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR Pascabencana Sumatera), has channelled Phase II stimulus funds for communities affected by floods and landslides in Bireuen Regency, Aceh, with a total allocation of Rp86 billion.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Menko PMK), Pratikno, in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday, said that the Phase II disbursement was made in the form of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) savings accounts to 4,347 households that had been declared eligible following verification based on the Regent’s Decree of Bireuen.
Recipients consist of 2,954 households with houses categorized as light damage, each receiving Rp15 million, and 1,393 households with moderate damage, each receiving Rp30 million.
Pratikno said that the stimulus disbursement would be carried out in stages in accordance with government verification and validation by the local government to ensure targeted assistance and accountability in supporting post-disaster recovery.
“The support is a government commitment to provide certainty for communities after disasters in line with the directions of President Prabowo Subianto,” he said.
According to him, the government through Satgas PRR aims to prevent communities from prolonged uncertainty after disaster. The stimulus funds are expected to restore the function of homes as places of residence and family protection.
“This fund is a mandate to restore homes to protect families. We hope this aid is used as effectively as possible so that livelihoods of fathers and mothers can return to normal soon,” he added.
