Provincial Government: 185 Padel Courts in Jakarta Lack Building Permits

The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has requested that padel courts without a Building Permit (PBG) be demolished. The Head of the Department of Public Works, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs (Citata), Vera Revina Sari, stated that 212 padel courts in Jakarta have a PBG. “The speed of padel court development is indeed extraordinary. As of 23 February 2026, there are 212 padel courts that have a PBG,” Vera told reporters on Wednesday (25/2/2026). Vera mentioned that there are 185 padel courts that do not have a PBG. Including those without a PBG, there are a total of 397 padel courts in Jakarta. “And 185 padel courts do not have a PBG,” she said. Pramono’s Directive Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government recorded that there are 397 padel courts spread throughout Jakarta. Of this number, the Provincial Government is currently reviewing the completeness of permits, including the Building Permit (PBG). “So, the number of padel courts in Jakarta now is 397. We are investigating how many of these 397 have permits or not,” said the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (24/2). He affirmed that padel courts in Jakarta that do not have a PBG will be subject to strict sanctions. The sanctions range from the suspension of activities, the demolition of buildings, to the revocation of business licenses. “Next, buildings or padel courts that do not have a PBG (Building Permit) will have their activities suspended, the buildings will be demolished, and their business licenses will be revoked,” Pramono explained.
