Province potential trouble spot

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: Maj. Gen. H.A. Rivai, chief of
the local security agency, says the province has the potential
for social and political tension, Antara reported yesterday.

The head of the Agency for Coordinating Support for the
Development of National Stability said that even with the general
elections a year away a number of social and political groups are
already embroiled in conflicts.

Addressing the opening of the agency's two-day meeting, Rivai
also cited frequent land disputes as another potential problem.
