Providing Real Benefits to Communities Near Operational Areas: Pertamina EP's 21-Year Commitment
Commemorating its 21st anniversary, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) has organised ‘PEP Berbagi’ and ‘PEP Bergerak’ as a series of social activities for more than 2,500 beneficiaries.
The President Director of Pertamina EP, Arief Prasetyo Handoyo, stated that these two series of activities across 25 PEP operational sites, from Sumatra to Papua, were held from 18 August to 8 September 2026.
“Entering our 21st year, we want to continue to carry the spirit that Pertamina EP’s presence provides contributions not only through operational activities but also through care and presence alongside the community,” said Arief in a statement on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
In the Pangkalan Susu, Lirik, and Jambi fields, assistance was distributed to orphans, the underprivileged, and the community through various foundations and institutions surrounding the operational areas.
In South Sumatra, the spirit of sharing was present through the Ramba, Prabumulih, Pendopo, Limau, Rantau, and Adera fields. Beneficiaries included the underprivileged, orphans, persons with disabilities, and the deaf community. In the Prabumulih field, for instance, aid was provided to a local disability sports organisation.
The ‘PEP Bergerak’ spirit was also realised through actions directly addressing community needs. This included providing clean and healthy living equipment for 75 students and supporting the renovation of facilities at SDN 76 Prabumulih.
Moving to West Java, ‘PEP Berbagi’ activities were carried out in the Jatibarang, Tambun, Subang, and OGT Balongan fields, with beneficiaries drawn from needy communities and social institutions near the operational areas.
In Kalimantan, the Sangasanga, Sangatta, Tanjung, Bunyu, and Tarakan fields also participated in the series of activities. Aid was distributed through foundations, Islamic boarding schools, zakat institutions, communities, disability groups, and social workers.
In the Tanjung field, for example, financial assistance was presented to the Bahaul Iman Islamic Boarding School in Bangun Sari, Belimbing Raya. Meanwhile, in the Cepu, Sukowati, Poleng, Donggi Matindok, and Papua fields, the spirit of sharing reached communities through foundations, orphanages, and other community groups.
In Papua, the Papua field presented assistance to the Indonesian Women’s Disability Association (HWDI) of Southwest Papua and the Muhammadiyah Sorong Orphanage. Beyond the operational areas, the ‘PEP Berbagi’ spirit was also present through the Pertamina EP Head Office, with aid distributed to communities and beneficiary groups in Cileungsi, Bekasi, Baduy, East Jakarta, and Tangerang.
