JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Wakil Ketua MPR RI from the Fraksi Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) faction, Eddy Soeparno, visited the Pandawara waste processing facility in Bandung city. On that occasion, Eddy Soeparno gave appreciation in the form of financing support to Pandawara for activities in processing waste into clean energy fuel. Eddy Soeparno also expressed appreciation for Pandawara, which not only strives to address waste problems in rivers, residential areas, and other public spaces, but also continues its mission to process waste into pellets used as fuel for industry, power plants, and SMEs. “This means that friends at Pandawara are supporting government programmes, particularly in the renewable energy development sector, by providing eco-friendly fuel alternatives,” he continued. This UI Political Science Doctor hopes that more waste fighters, especially among millennials and Gen Z, will utilise the momentum of waste management as business opportunities as part of the “green economy” whose potential will increasingly develop in Indonesia. Therefore, Eddy hopes that more young people, especially the millennial generation and Gen Z, will get involved as “waste fighters” by utilising the waste management momentum as future business and innovation opportunities. As an MPR RI leader who has been actively promoting energy transition issues and sustainable development, Eddy emphasised his commitment to continue collaborating with various parties, especially in developing renewable energy and addressing environmental and climate crises to prevent climate change impacts. “The government, communities, business world, academics, and civil society must join hands to develop the renewable energy sector, address environmental and climate crises, and create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for Indonesia,” Eddy Soeparno concluded.
