Proud of Bahasa Indonesia

As Indonesian citizens we are proud of our national language
i.e. Bahasa Indonesia.

But we are witnessing a crisis in the use of Bahasa Indonesia.
For example, some people like to mix Bahasa Indonesia with a
foreign language. Why they do this is not clear. Maybe their
speech sounds modern or westernized. To my mind, if you want to
communicate in English, for instance, you must use it correctly.
The same is true for Bahasa Indonesia. Do not mix it with other
languages. This is also the case with local dialects.
Communicating in Indonesian and mixing in the vocabulary of local
dialects.

It is irritating to hear people speaking their own dialect
during a meeting which is being attended by people of different
ethnic groups who speak different dialects besides the common
national language of Indonesian. Why don't they stick to using
only Bahasa Indonesia -- our national language -- to communicate
with each other in public meetings to avoid suspicion.
