Protests in Menteng and Monas: Alternative Routes to Take
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Several points in the centre of the capital are expected to experience traffic congestion on Tuesday (14/4/2026), following planned protest actions in the Menteng to Monas areas.
Citing Kompas.com, Tuesday (14/4/2026), the mass action by online motorcycle taxis will take place on Jalan Cik Ditiro, Gondangdia, Menteng starting at 11:00 WIB. Meanwhile, another action is also scheduled on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan and the southern side of the Monas area at 13:00 WIB.
To anticipate congestion, the public is advised to avoid several road sections and seek alternative routes.
Avoid the Menteng area. From Thamrin, turn onto Jalan KH Mas Mansyur – continue to Tanah Abang - then enter Jalan Fachrudin – continue to Jalan Abdul Muis – reach Harmoni, then take the Gunung Sahari or Pasar Senen route towards Matraman.
From Matraman or Salemba, avoid entering Menteng. Go straight towards Senen – Gunung Sahari – then enter Jalan Dr. Sutomo – continue to the Pasar Baru area – then head towards Juanda or Lapangan Banteng.
Avoid the Monas route. Use the Gunung Sahari – Pasar Senen – Kramat Raya route – continue to Salemba – Matraman – Kampung Melayu – then head towards Casablanca or Tebet.
From Tomang or Grogol, go via Jalan S. Parman – continue to Slipi – then enter Jalan KH Mas Mansyur – Tanah Abang – avoid entering Thamrin on the Monas side, and use inner city routes.
Avoid Medan Merdeka Selatan, detour to Jalan Majapahit – Harmoni – continue towards Gajah Mada – Hayam Wuruk – then towards the West (Glodok, Kota, or Grogol).
It is recommended to detour earlier towards Cikini – Salemba or directly exit towards Matraman to avoid protest concentration points.
A total of 476 personnel are deployed to secure the protest proceedings. Road users are also asked to remain orderly and follow the instructions of officers for smooth traffic flow.
