Protesters press for ouster of regent

BANYUWANGI, East Java: Members of the Forum to Safeguard Banyuwangi (FPB) political group threatened on Thursday to mobilize its members for a major protest, should the local legislative council refuse to convene a plenary session soon to oust Regent Samsul Hadi.

"If there is no such plenary session on Friday, we will occupy the regent's office on Monday," FPB coordinator Thoriq said.
