Protesters Block Transjakarta Route in Front of Attorney General's Office

Dozens of protesters blocked the Cakra Selaras Wahana (CSW) bus stop route heading towards the city centre in front of the Attorney General’s Office on Jalan Panglima Polim, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, disrupting Transjakarta services and road traffic. The demonstrators, from the National Judges Intellectual Network (JIHN), began gathering at 2:13 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. They formed orderly lines while awaiting the command to begin their protest in the Blok M area. “We hope the Attorney General will immediately uncover and remove former Deputy Attorney General Febrie so the public is no longer left questioning. We sincerely hope there is no blunt law,” said JIHN Director Riswan Siahaan during his speech in front of the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday. He stated the protest carried four main demands: urging the Attorney General’s Office to act independently in handling the case of former Deputy Attorney General Febrie Adriansyah and to uphold the President’s commitment to eradicating corruption. Thirdly, they support the Attorney General’s Office in restoring public trust by promptly resolving the Febrie Adriansyah case. “Furthermore, we ask the government to review Presidential Regulation Number 66 of 2025 concerning the involvement of the Indonesian National Armed Forces in the prosecutor’s office as a commitment to safeguarding democracy and to dispel accusations that Indonesia is heading towards a military junta state,” Riswan added. The protesters carried out various actions, including blocking Jalan Panglima Polim, burning posters, and attempting to enter the Attorney General’s Office building. Police personnel secured the area by extinguishing the fire with light fire extinguishers, wetting the road to prevent it from becoming a fire zone, and managing traffic flow in the vicinity.
