Protection for Traffic Accident Victims Regulated in P2SK Bill

The Draft Law on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK) also regulates mandatory road traffic accident insurance funds. This has been agreed upon by the Government, represented by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) during Level I discussions. The proposal will subsequently be brought to the DPR Plenary Session.

“The Government supports the DPR’s proposal to provide protection to members of the public who become victims of road traffic accidents, while simultaneously providing legal certainty regarding the provision of compensation to accident victims,” said Purbaya. He noted that this regulation will benefit the public in the future.

“This clarification is an effort to clarify the scope of benefits for each protection scheme already regulated by existing laws and regulations,” he explained.
