BRI Peduli, the umbrella for BRI’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme, has moved swiftly by distributing masks and vitamins to residents at several high-mobility locations in Jakarta and Lampung amid the emergency conditions caused by volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

In Jakarta, masks were distributed at several points, namely the CSW Transjakarta stop, the Sudirman MRT/KRL area, the Semanggi interchange and Bendungan Hilir, handed out directly by BRILian staff, or BRI employees.

BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny said the activity formed part of the implementation of BRI Peduli Emergency Response, reflecting the company’s swift efforts to help the public face emergency conditions and disasters.

“We want to be present among the community and provide support that is simple yet meaningful. The distribution of masks and vitamins is a form of BRI’s care to help people stay protected and carry out their activities amid the spread of volcanic ash,” Dhanny said in an official statement on Tuesday (8/9/2026).

According to him, the spread of volcanic ash can affect air quality and potentially cause discomfort, particularly to breathing and eyes. For this reason, preventive measures are important for the public to take, including wearing masks when carrying out activities outdoors.

“BRI hopes the support provided through BRI Peduli can help the public face this situation more safely and comfortably,” Dhanny added.

Through BRI Peduli, the company continues to strive to be present not only in emergency conditions, but also through various social initiatives that provide tangible benefits to communities across Indonesia.
