Protecting Ko Erwin's Meth Network, Malaungi Allegedly Received Rp 150 Million per Kg
The case of methamphetamine distribution involving former Bima Kota Police chief Didik Putra Kuncoro and former narcotics unit head Malaungi has entered a new phase, with proceedings now underway at the Bima District Court. The case is linked to the drug network of Erwin Iskandar, also known as Ko Erwin. In the latest hearing held on Wednesday (19/8), Malaungi was said to have received Rp 150 million per kilogramme of methamphetamine to protect Ko Erwin’s network.
Public prosecutor Sahrul confirmed that the trial has reached the witness examination stage. The prosecution presented a female witness named Anita, aged 30, who is the wife of Bripka Irfan, also known as Karol, a Bima Kota Police officer dismissed for his involvement in the methamphetamine distribution case.
In her testimony, Anita stated that she overheard a conversation between Malaungi, who was then head of the Bima Kota Police narcotics unit, and Ko Erwin at a starred hotel in Bima City. Anita was accompanied by Ais Setiawati, also known as Misbah, the unregistered wife of Ko Erwin. The meeting took place in room 412 of the Marina Inn Hotel in Bima City, where Ko Erwin and Malaungi discussed methamphetamine distribution in the Bima area.
Anita testified that Ko Erwin expressed his intention to distribute methamphetamine in Bima, a plan that received support from Malaungi on the condition that a security fee be paid. During negotiations, Ko Erwin offered a security fee of Rp 100 million per kilogramme, but Malaungi rejected the amount as too small. The security fee was ultimately agreed at Rp 150 million per kilogramme of methamphetamine. Anita also heard Malaungi say that the security money from Ko Erwin would be distributed to officers in the field and used to pay for his superior’s school fees.
After the negotiation, they went to a nightclub owned by Anita in Ule, Asakota District, Bima City. There, Anita provided a special room and supplied ecstasy pills at Rp 500,000 each for Ko Erwin and Malaungi. Anita said the two men consumed ecstasy and sang karaoke together before leaving the nightclub.
Anita also admitted in court that she had been selling methamphetamine in the Bima area since 2025. She obtained the drugs from Ko Erwin, Abdul Hamid, also known as Boy Dara, and Satriawan, also known as Dae Awan. She testified that she was required to source methamphetamine from these three dealers if she wanted to remain safe and avoid arrest.
According to the prosecutor, Anita admitted she resorted to selling methamphetamine because she was burdened with debts amounting to billions of rupiah due to an addiction to online slot gambling. The trial will continue with further witness examinations, scheduled to be held at the Bima District Court on 3 September.
