"Protect Jakarta" Becomes Pramono Anung's Message for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung continues to promote “Protect Jakarta” as the central message for Eid al-Fitr celebrations on 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah.

“As I have repeatedly stated, ‘Protect Jakarta’ is the main theme always highlighted during religious events,” said Pramono after performing Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Jakarta City Hall courtyard on Saturday morning.

With Eid al-Fitr celebrations themed “Weaving Brotherhood in the Symphony of Victory for a Pure Jakarta”, Pramono hopes Jakarta’s condition remains stable amid global turbulence.

“Hopefully, by all of us protecting Jakarta, even though the world is not doing well, inshallah, Jakarta will hopefully be fine,” said Pram, the familiar nickname for Pramono Anung.

The Eid prayer began at 06:30 WIB, and Ma’ruf Amin, dressed in all white, started his sermon around 06:50 WIB and finished at 07:11 WIB. Meanwhile, around 2,000 congregants filled the Jakarta City Hall courtyard.

Attending the Eid prayer at Jakarta City Hall were Vice Governor Rano Karno, Regional Secretary Uus Kuswanto, and several former officials. After delivering his sermon, Ma’ruf Amin joined DKI Provincial Government officials in exchanging greetings with local residents.
