Prostitution
Prostitution
From Neraca
A seminar held recently in Tangerang, West Java, discussed the problem of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), for which there is still no known cure. The seminar revealed that Indonesia has the largest number of prostitutes in Southeast Asia.
According to the seminar, localized prostitution is found in almost all large cities. Prostitutes here also operate along busy highways, such as along the north coast of Java and through to Sumatra. It is understandable that a foreign investor wants to invest in prostitution development. But the government rejects the investment proposal.
I am very concerned about this fact. What will happen to our future generations? Will they become AIDS infected generations? The localization of prostitution may be official in some cities but in other places it is clandestinely operated.
