Prospective Village Cooperative Managers Awaiting Salary Details Following Training Completion
Farrel Rafif Wibowo, 23, remains uncertain about the income he will receive after graduating from the Indonesian Development Driver Bachelor (SPPI) training. Farrel, along with thousands of other prospective managers for the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP), has completed a 45-day education and training programme organised by the Ministry of Defence.
Farrel is expected to be deployed to manage cooperatives across various regions following his official graduation as a prospective cooperative manager on Friday, 31 July 2026. “We have not yet been informed how much salary we will receive,” Farrel stated after the closing ceremony of the SPPI training at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta.
A graduate in Communication Science from the Yogyakarta Multimedia College, Farrel revealed that since the registration process, the committee has not detailed the amount of the honorarium. The information received by participants is limited to a promise that salary details will be announced during the signing of employment contracts following graduation. They are planned to be engaged under Fixed-Term Employment Agreements (PKWT) for a period of two years.
Despite the uncertainty, Farrel admitted he is not overly concerned. For this recent graduate, the priority is gaining his first professional work experience. “The details are still pending information from the superiors,” he said.
In addition to the salary issue, prospective cooperative managers are also awaiting detailed information regarding their specific job descriptions. Farhan Juliansky, 25, noted that they have only received general briefings regarding managerial duties. “The detailed job descriptions will be informed later, as they have not yet been released on the portal account,” he said. Farhan, an Architecture graduate from Bung Hatta University, Padang, previously worked as an architectural designer before applying as a Merah Putih village cooperative manager.
In this first wave, the Ministry of Defence has officially graduated 33,785 SPPI participants. This figure consists of 28,626 prospective cooperative managers and 5,159 prospective managers for the Merah Putih Fishing Villages.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General Tri Budi Utomo, stated that all participants will soon be deployed to various regions for assignments lasting approximately two years.
Concurrently, the President Director of Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, stated that 18,672 Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives have been completed to date. Of that number, 1,021 cooperatives have begun operations and will serve as placement locations for the SPPI graduates. Joao explained that placements will be adjusted according to the domicile of each prospective manager. Regarding the salary issue, he revealed that the specific amount is still being discussed internally, noting that a meeting was scheduled to address the matter.
