Prospective Hajj Pilgrims from West Java Prepare to Depart for the Holy Land, Majority Women
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has revealed that prospective Hajj pilgrims will start entering the Indramayu and Bekasi Hajj dormitories on Tuesday (21 April 2026). They will then depart beginning Wednesday (22 April 2026). “Prospective Hajj pilgrims will be received in Indramayu and Bekasi tomorrow, the first wave in Bekasi with 14 batches, while in Indramayu 20 batches,” said the Head of the West Java Ministry of Hajj, Boy Hari Navian, when contacted on Monday (20 April 2026). He continued that the second wave will enter the Bekasi Hajj dormitory with 28 batches and 40 batches in Indramayu. The Head of the Ministry stated that preparations for the Hajj departure are 100% complete. “Alhamdulillah, West Java is 100%, we have prepared the Indramayu and Bekasi dormitories,” he said. He added that all documents will be given to prospective Hajj pilgrims while at the Hajj dormitory, including the Nusuk card. In addition, medicines and other necessities have been meticulously prepared. “Up to now, there are no issues, including the departure to Saudi Arabia with direct flights,” he said. He reminded prospective pilgrims to maintain their health and avoid fatigue before departing to Saudi Arabia. Navian stated that the majority of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Greater Bandung are 60% women and the rest men. “From 100%, prospective pilgrims aged 65 years dominate at 60%, this requires extra hard attention,” he said. Subsequently, they are preparing 30% female worship guides to accompany the prospective Hajj pilgrims. Previously, the West Java Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed that 29,643 prospective Hajj pilgrims will depart to perform Hajj in the holy land of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in 2026. The departure begins on 21 April to the Hajj dormitories and continues to Saudi Arabia.
