Prospective Hajj Pilgrims for 2026 Dominated by Primary and Secondary School Graduates, PPIH Must Prepare Mentally
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak has emphasised the importance of mental, spiritual readiness, and service orientation for Hajj Organising Officials (PPIH) in ensuring the success of the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj pilgrimage. This was conveyed in his directive ahead of the officials’ departure on Friday (17/4/2026) at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory. Dahnil stressed that the PPIH’s duties are not merely technical work, but part of worship and a sacred mission that must be carried out with full awareness and responsibility. “We are ready to make the 2026 Hajj a success. Mental readiness is important, including the ability to manage emotions, so that the physical strength we have is truly supported by spiritual strength that is ready,” he said. He invited all officials to intend their departure as part of worship through devotion in serving Hajj pilgrims. “Intend this release as us all performing worship through the role of Hajj officials serving pilgrims so they can perform their worship well. This is a sacred mission, not just for ourselves, but also for family, religion, and nation,” he stated. A total of 360 PPIH from the Medina Working Area and Airports will depart for King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah. Dahnil also reminded that PPIH are the spearhead of the Hajj organisation’s success, so the great trust from the public must be guarded as best as possible.
