JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Public Prosecutor (JPU) Roy Riady stated that his side will study the panel of judges’ decision regarding Sri Wahyuningsih, the former Director of Elementary Schools at Kemendikbudristek for the 2020–2021 period. “Regarding this decision, we have the right to study it,” Roy said after the trial at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor), Thursday (30/4/2026). He explained that, based on the provisions in the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), prosecutors have seven days to determine their stance on the decision. “Whether we accept the decision or file an appeal, we will decide after studying it,” he said. Regarding parties that have not yet returned the state losses, Roy mentioned that this will also be part of the prosecutors’ review. “In our indictment analysis, it was already mentioned that several parties have returned funds. Regarding the judges’ considerations, we will study them further,” he stated. However, the panel of judges deemed the defendant proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing corruption jointly as per the subsidiary indictment. For her actions, Sri was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rp500 million. The decision refers to Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001. In addition, the panel of judges considered Law No. 1 of 2025 on the Adjustment of Criminal Threats and Law No. 46 of 2009 on the Corruption Court.
