Prosecutors return mangrove case file

JAKARTA: Prosecutors returned to the police the indictment of three suspects in a case of illegal mangrove felling after two months of examination, a police officer said on Wednesday.

"Officials from the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office stated that the indictment was incomplete," Jakarta Police environment division chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Ahmad Haydar said.

To complete it, the police questioned suspect Purwadi from toll road operator PT Jasa Marga during the day.

In June, the police named Francis Moniaga from PT Rainbow Cipta Utama ad agency, Agus Suseno from PT Grand Skylindo ad agency and Purwadi as suspects for allegedly felling part of a protected mangrove along Prof. Dr. Sedyatmo toll road, North Jakarta, in April to provide a clearer view of their advertising billboards. --JP
