Radiet Adiansyah, known as Radit, has been sentenced to six years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend, Ni Made Vaniradya Puspa Nitra, at Nipah Beach in Pemenang District, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The public prosecutor is yet to decide on a response to the verdict, which falls far short of the original demand. ‘We will discuss this with our superiors and present all the facts to determine our next legal step,’ said Muhamamd Harun Al Rasyid, Head of Legal Information at the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office, on Wednesday. The prosecution currently has seven days to file an appeal. Meanwhile, the defendant’s legal team has confirmed it will appeal the ruling. Radit’s lawyer, Kusnaini, stated that his client should have been acquitted and declared innocent. ‘We are certain Radit must be freed because he is a victim and he is not guilty,’ Kusnaini added. The panel of judges at Mataram District Court, chaired by Mukhlaasuddin, had previously found Radit proven to have assaulted the victim until she died at Nipah Beach on 26 August 2025. He was declared guilty under Article 466, paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
