Prosecutors reject dossiers on Dwi

YOGYAKARTA: Local police are surprised by the prosecutors' third rejection of dossiers on a man they believe murdered journalist Fuad Muhammad Syafruddin.

"We thought the dossiers were adequate and wouldn't be rejected," said Lt. Col. Hanifan, chief of the local police, yesterday.

The local prosecutors office rejected the police investigators dossiers on the suspect, Dwi Sumadji, on the grounds that the documents did not provide sufficient evidence.

Syafruddin, known as Udin, was murdered last August at his home in Bantul, just south of here. It's widely believed the assassination was related to his reports on corruption at the Bantul administration.

In the police evidence were the results of DNA test on Syafruddin's blood which the police said was done in Britain. (23)
