JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The prosecutorial hearing in the case of the PT Terra Drone Indonesia office fire, originally scheduled to be held at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (7/5/2026), has been postponed until Monday (11/5/2026). “(The hearing) is postponed to Monday, 11 May 2026,” stated Presiding Judge Purwanto S Abdullah during the session. Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor Daru Iqbal Mursid explained the reason for the postponement of the prosecutorial hearing, stating that more time was needed to prepare the indictment letter. “The hearing was supposed to be the reading of the indictment letter today, but we still need time to prepare the indictment letter,” Daru said. “To describe the facts from the trial which are quite numerous. If agreeable, please postpone the hearing,” he added. The panel of judges then inquired about the ideal time to hold the prosecutorial hearing. The legal representative of Michael Wishnu and the prosecutor both agreed on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. Thus, the Presiding Judge read out the latest schedule adjustment for the PT Terra Drone Indonesia case proceedings. “(So) 18th for pleadings, 19th for rebuttal. Reply on the 20th. Then verdict on 21 May,” Purwanto added. Previously reported, Michael Wishnu, as the President Director of PT Terra Drone, has been charged with negligence that caused the office fire and resulted in the deaths of 22 employees. In the indictment document obtained by Kompas.com, Michael is charged with failing to carry out his obligations to prevent, reduce, and extinguish fires in the building that serves as the workplace for PT Terra Drone Indonesia. Michael also did not provide fire detection sensors, did not provide smoke detection sensors, did not provide emergency ladders and evacuation route signs, did not conduct regular fire prevention training and drills, and did not provide adequate Lithium Fire Killer (AF31) portable fire extinguishers in the office building.
