Prosecutors Appeal Corruption Verdict in East Lombok Chromebook Case
Prosecutors have pursued a cassation appeal against the corruption verdict in the Chromebook case at the Education and Culture Office of East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, in 2022. The appeal has been recorded in the case tracking information system of the Mataram District Court. Of the six defendants, prosecutors are listed as the cassation applicants for five.
The Head of Intelligence for the East Lombok District Attorney’s Office, Ugik Ramantyo, confirmed the appeal. “That is correct,” Ugik said on Friday (10/7/2026).
The prosecutors are the cassation applicants for defendants Libert Hutahaean, Director of PT Temprina Media Grafika; Lia Anggawari, Director of PT Dinamika Indo Media; As’Ad, Secretary of the East Lombok Education and Culture Office; Amrulloh, the commitment-making official; and M Jaosi alias Ojik, a marketing representative of PT Jepe Press Media Utama. For defendant Salmukin, Director of CV Cerdas Mandiri, the prosecutors are listed as the respondent.
The detailed reasons for the prosecutors’ cassation appeal are not yet known. However, it is believed the consideration stems from a disagreement with the appellate judges’ ruling. “Perhaps the consideration is regarding the restitution payment, like before,” he stated.
In the appellate ruling, the defendants received varying sentences. Libert Hutahaean was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of Rp 500 million, subsidiary to 140 days, and ordered to pay restitution of Rp 3.2 billion, subsidiary to three years and six months. Lia Anggawari received a seven-year prison sentence and a fine of Rp 400 million, subsidiary to 120 days, and must pay restitution of Rp 534 million, subsidiary to three years and six months.
Defendants Amrulloh and As’ad were each sentenced to six years in prison and a fine of Rp 300 million, subsidiary to 100 days. Defendant Salmukin was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of Rp 500 million, subsidiary to 140 days, and must pay restitution of Rp 2 billion, subsidiary to four years. Lastly, defendant M Jaosi was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of Rp 350 million, subsidiary to 110 days, and ordered to pay state loss restitution of Rp 238 million, subsidiary to three years.
The case involved funds from the 2022 Special Allocation Fund totalling Rp 32 billion. State losses were calculated at Rp 9.2 billion based on an audit by a public accounting firm.
