Prosecutorial Commission directly monitors AGO's handling of Febrie case

The Indonesian Prosecutorial Commission (Komjak) is directly monitoring the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) handling of the alleged corruption and money laundering case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. Komjak spokesman Nurokhman stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that the monitoring was led by Komjak Chairman Pujiyono Suwadi and received directly by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin. He revealed that the Komjak team directly observed the examination of witnesses and suspect DR (Don Ritto), which was being carried out by a team of nine AGO prosecutors. To date, the investigative team has examined several witnesses in the case. ‘The Indonesian Prosecutorial Commission notes this development as part of the ongoing investigation process,’ he said. Nurokhman added that this field monitoring activity is part of Komjak’s duties as mandated by legislation, namely to supervise, monitor, and assess the performance and behaviour of prosecutors and the execution of the prosecution service’s institutional tasks. He affirmed the commission will continue to carry out its oversight function objectively, independently, and professionally to support law enforcement that is characterised by integrity, transparency, and accountability. In handling this case, the National Police have transferred the investigation process to the AGO. The AGO has appointed nine named prosecutors to handle the matter. The nine investigators include Finance Inspector II at the Junior Attorney General for Supervision, Agus Salim; Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, Muhibuddin; Head of the Asset Recovery Agency’s Tracing and Seizure Management Centre, Chatarina Muliana Girsang; and Finance Inspector I at the Junior Attorney General for Supervision, Riyono. The team also includes Secretary to the Junior Attorney General for General Crimes, Agus Sahat; Director of Legal Consideration at the Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administration, Irene Putri; Deputy Head of the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office, Rinaldi Umar; Director of Prosecution at the Junior Attorney General for Military Crimes, Zet Tadung Allo; and Director A at the Junior Attorney General for General Crimes, Hari Wibowo.
