The Public Prosecutor of the Denpasar District Attorney’s Office is seeking a two-year prison sentence for Australian national Sean Duncan Millar, 50, for ordering crystal methamphetamine for personal consumption in Denpasar, Bali.

During a hearing at the Denpasar District Court on Thursday, Prosecutor Gusti Ayu Yunita stated that the defendant’s unauthorised and unlawful misuse of narcotics for himself violated Article 127, Paragraph (1) letter a of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 3/2009. Consequently, the prosecution requested that the panel of judges impose a two-year prison sentence and order that the defendant remain in custody.

In the session presided over by Chief Judge Eni Martiningrum, the prosecutor stated that Sean was proven to have violated the Narcotics Law. In response to the sentencing demand, Sean, accompanied by his legal counsel, Jupiter, stated that he would submit a defence or plea during the next hearing.

“We will submit an oral defence, Your Honour,” Jupiter told the judge. The panel of judges subsequently granted the defendant’s legal counsel the opportunity to present the defence at the next hearing, scheduled for Thursday, 24 September 2026.

“Very well, we grant the defendant’s counsel the opportunity to present the defence at next week’s hearing on Thursday, 24 September 2026. This session is adjourned,” the judge stated.

The case originated when Sean met an individual known as Made, alias Roofair Indo, who is currently on the Denpasar Police’s most wanted list (DPO) as of 15 June 2026. Sean was alleged to have ordered approximately 0.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine from Made. In April 2026, the defendant reportedly placed another order with a transaction value of approximately Rp1.7 million.

The defendant was said to have met Made directly at the Trimulia Guest House in West Denpasar. However, Sean had not yet consumed the methamphetamine when officers conducted an arrest and search at the location.

During the search of the defendant’s room, police discovered a plastic clip containing clear crystals suspected to be methamphetamine on a bedroom table. Officers also found a glass pipe (bong) on the floor and another glass pipe on a shelf. Additionally, police seized a black iPhone 16, which was confirmed to be in the defendant’s possession.

According to the weighing report of the evidence dated 5 April 2026, the clear crystals had a net weight of 0.6 grams and a gross weight of 0.8 grams. Criminalistic laboratory results dated 6 April 2026 confirmed that the clear crystals tested positive for methamphetamine.
