Prosecutor Reveals Meeting Between Director-General of Customs and Blueray Cargo Owner

Jakarta – The Prosecutor’s Office (JPU) has revealed a meeting between Director General of Customs Djaka Budi Utama and the bribery suspect, Blueray Cargo owner John Field, at Borobudur Hotel.

Initially, the Head of the Customs Intelligence Section I of the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Orlando Hamonangan, also known as Ocoy, admitted he was ordered by Head of Sub-Directorate Intelligence P2 DJBC Sisprian Subiaksono to arrange the meeting with John.

’Who was the first to tell Mr Ocoy that we want to hold this meeting at Borobudur Hotel?’ asked the prosecutor in the East Jakarta Corruption Court, on Wednesday (20/5/2026).

’I don’t know who initiated it; I only received an order to contact John: there will be a meeting at Borobudur Hotel,’ Ocoy replied.

’So it was conveyed that you should contact Mr John so that he would come to the Borobudur Hotel. Then meet with the Director General, Mr Djaka, then Mr Rizal and Mr Sisprian, is that right?’ the prosecutor continued.

’Yes, Sir,’ replied Ocoy.

To the prosecutor, Ocoy admitted he did not know the reasons for the meeting.

’I don’t quite understand; perhaps it was to make introductions or something; I’m not sure either — I was just told to contact him,’ he said.

He went on to say the Borobudur Hotel meeting was held around 20:00 to 22:00 WIB on 22 July 2025.

Ocoy said the meeting was conducted in private among Djaka, Rizal and John at the Borobudur Hotel.

’Indeed in that meeting there were only six people present. There were Mr Djaka, Mr Rizal, Mr John, without Mr Sisprian at that moment?’ the prosecutor asked.

’Yes,’ replied Ocoy.

Also present were Blueray owner John Field; Head of Blueray Imports Documentation Team, Andri; and Blueray Operational Manager, Dedy Kurniawan.
