Promoting the Spirit of 'MengEMASkan' Indonesia: Pegadaian Director Shares Career Experiences via 'Alumni Calling' Session

Pegadaian, in collaboration with Garuda TV, organised the inspiring ‘Indonesia Punya Kamu 2026: Connecting Generations’ programme to bridge the gap between corporate leaders and the younger generation. This latest initiative was held through the ‘Alumni Calling’ session at Andalas University on Tuesday (15/9).

Attending the event was the Director of Risk Management, Legal, and Compliance of PT Pegadaian, Ismail Ilyas, who returned to his alma mater, Andalas University. In front of hundreds of students, Ismail shared his life journey, professional track record, and leadership perspectives through a presentation titled ‘From Ranah Minang, for the Archipelago’.

Through this discussion forum, students were invited to take a closer look at various process dynamics, operational challenges, and strategic decisions that shape the career journey of a professional at a national level. The presence of a prominent alumnus is expected to provide a real-world understanding of the competencies and mentality required in the modern workforce.

“Returning to my alma mater is always a memorable moment for me. Through this Alumni Calling session, we want to open a space for students to realise that every process and challenge faced during university serves to shape future leadership character. The younger generation from Ranah Minang must be brave enough to take on roles, continue to grow, and provide real benefits to the wider community as part of our collective step to ‘MengEMASkan’ Indonesia,” said Ismail.
