Promoting Technology Literacy, 22 Students Selected as Google Student Ambassadors

As many as 22 students from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) have achieved a notable accomplishment by being selected as Google Student Ambassadors (GSA) for 2026. This feat provides concrete evidence that UBSI, as a digital creative campus, not only focuses on academic excellence but also actively promotes the development of innovation, leadership, and technology literacy among students. The Google Student Ambassador (GSA) programme is an official Google initiative that selects active students to serve as representatives and technology community leaders within their campus environments. These ambassadors play a crucial role as agents of change, introducing Google technologies—particularly artificial intelligence such as Gemini—through various workshops and educational content to enhance students’ academic productivity. UBSI’s Vice Rector II for Non-Academic Affairs, Adi Supriyatna, stated that this achievement is a source of pride and motivation for the entire academic community to continue developing. “The selection of 22 students as Google Student Ambassadors 2026 proves that UBSI students possess strong competencies, leadership spirit, and excellent technological adaptability. This aligns with our commitment as a digital creative campus to produce a generation that excels not only academically but is also ready to become innovators and agents of change in the digital era,” he said on Wednesday (1/4/2026). He added that this success reflects UBSI’s commitment to equipping students with relevant digital skills for current industry needs. “An adaptive and innovative learning environment is the main supporting factor in producing students who can compete globally,” he remarked. He also hopes that the participation of UBSI students in the GSA programme will strengthen the technology ecosystem on campus and encourage the emergence of more digital innovations that benefit society. One of the selected students, Tiara Sari from the Informatics Study Programme at UBSI’s Pontianak campus, said her success serves as inspiration for other students to continue developing their potential in technology. Tiara revealed that the GSA selection process provided valuable experiences while opening opportunities to contribute more broadly to the campus technology community. “I am very grateful to be part of the Google Student Ambassador 2026. This is not just about personal achievement, but also an opportunity to share knowledge, especially regarding AI technologies like Gemini, with friends on campus. I want to help them become more productive and ready to face challenges in the digital era,” she stated.
