A new digital innovation has emerged from students at Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a campus recognised for its focus on digital business. Master’s students from the Informatics Study Programme have launched a health startup named ‘Sehat Rasa’, an integrated digital platform designed to help the public adopt a healthier lifestyle in an easy, practical, and measurable manner.

The startup offers various flagship features within a single application, ranging from doctor consultations and calorie calculators to balanced diet menu recommendations, all aimed at helping users manage their health independently. ‘Sehat Rasa’ was developed by three Master of Informatics students at UNM: Rahma Nadiya, Adictya Januarizky, and Muhammad Ibnu Fauzan. The idea was born from the increasing public awareness of health importance, coupled with the ongoing challenges many face in accessing healthcare services and maintaining consistent dietary patterns.

One of the developers, Rahma Nadiya, explained that ‘Sehat Rasa’ was created to address the public’s need for integrated digital health services. “We want to provide a platform that not only provides health information but also helps users understand their daily calorie needs, manage eating patterns, and receive recommendations tailored to their specific conditions,” she said.

According to Rahma, ease of access is a primary focus in the application’s development. Through a technology-based approach, users can obtain health information and guidance at any time without facing complex processes. The doctor consultation feature provides practical health education and advice, while the calorie calculator helps calculate daily energy requirements based on the user’s activity and physical condition. Additionally, the balanced diet recommendation feature is designed to help the public implement healthy eating habits more easily and sustainably.

The Head of the Nusa Mandiri Startup Center (NSC), Siti Nurlela, praised the innovation, noting that ‘Sehat Rasa’ serves as a real-world example of how technology can be utilised to address public health challenges. “The ‘Sehat Rasa’ startup demonstrates that UNM students are not only capable of developing technology but also possess concern for societal issues. Innovations like this are essential to support the digital transformation of healthcare services,” she stated in a release received on Tuesday.

She added that the NSC will continue to provide mentorship to students with potential business ideas and startups to ensure they grow into solutions that provide tangible benefits to society. “We are committed to supporting the birth of innovative, sustainable, and competitive student startups in the national digital industry. ‘Sehat Rasa’ is an example of how student creativity and competence can be transformed into relevant digital solutions.”

The launch of ‘Sehat Rasa’ further reinforces UNM’s commitment as a Digital Business Campus in fostering technology-based innovation through student startup development. Through a strong digital entrepreneurship ecosystem, UNM continues to support students in creating solutions that are not only innovative but also deliver a positive impact on the wider community.
