Promoting Financial Literacy, LPS Prepares to Host Jogja Financial Festival 2026
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) will hold the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 over two days, namely 22-23 May 2026. This event is designed as a strategic platform to bring together business leaders and stakeholders through discussions, collaborations, and education on financial issues.
LPS Commissioner Council Chairman Anggito Abimanyu stated that Yogyakarta was chosen because financial literacy remains low despite high education levels.
Anggito explained that the proportion of depositors with balances under Rp10 million in Yogyakarta experienced a 2% decline in 2025. Meanwhile, the proportion of depositors with balances over Rp5 billion rose by 3%.
“Therefore, we chose Yogyakarta with the aim of increasing financial activities in Yogyakarta,” he said during the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 Press Conference on Friday (24/4/2026).
Not only that, the number of capital market investors in Yogyakarta is around 300,000 and is dominated by retail investors. As many as 30% of these retail investors are students.
“So we intend to make the financial conditions in Yogyakarta more active, and the investor base can be expanded,” Anggito emphasised.
It is known that the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 will be filled with a number of interesting activities, such as business talks, educational classes, and a career corner. No less interesting, the event will also feature stand-up comedy by Kiky Saputri as well as music performances by top artists such as Ari Lasso, Happy Asmara, and Juicy Lucy.
Through a combination of talkshow, exhibition, and entertainment formats, the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 is expected to become an effective and inclusive medium in building trust and expanding the reach of financial literacy to the wider community.
