Promoting Community-Based Tourism and Education, BRI Peduli Distributes Aid to Ketapanrame Village
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, through its CSR programme BRI Peduli, continues to strengthen community empowerment by providing public facilities that offer social and economic benefits. One such effort is realised through the distribution of aid to Ketapanable Village, Trawas District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java, for the development of a Hajj pilgrimage education centre, as well as the improvement of infrastructure at the Sumber Gempong and Taman Ghanjaran tourist sites.
Ketapanrame Village has been part of the BRILiaN Village Programme since 2021. This incubation programme, initiated by BRI, aims to create a village development model based on leadership, innovation, collaboration, and digitalisation. Leveraging its tourism potential, flagship community products, and growing village business management, Ketapanrame achieved second place in the 2021 BRILiaN Village competition and has since emerged as one of the leading tourist villages in Mojokerto Regency.
As part of the effort to strengthen public facilities that support community educational activities, BRI Peduli is supporting the development of the Hajj Pilgrimage Education Centre, which serves as a facility for the public to learn about the rituals of the Hajj pilgrimage. Its presence enriches the variety of educational destinations available in the village and expands the activities available to both residents and visitors.
BRI Peduli is also supporting the development of the Sumber Gempong Rice Field Tourism, one of Ketapanrame Village’s flagship destinations. Established in 2021, this site is an extension of the Taman Ghanjaran tourist area and is built on village-owned land with support from Village Original Income (PADes), Village Funds, and community investment. Featuring terraced paddy field panoramas and natural springs, the area has developed into a tourist attraction that drives local economic activity through various surrounding businesses and services.
In addition to Sumber Gempong, BRI Peduli’s assistance also supports the development of Taman Ghanjaran, which has been a centre for family tourism in Ketapanrame Village since 2018. Built on village-owned land, the destination continues to grow through the addition of various facilities, ranging from amusement rides and swimming pools to food courts and photo areas, enhancing visitor comfort and strengthening local economic activities. The presence of these various tourist destinations creates business opportunities for MSMEs, traders, and the community involved in village tourism activities.
