Jakarta (ANTARA) - A witness has disclosed discussions regarding operational costs up to a promised bonus of Rp5 billion behind the alleged kidnapping and murder case of a bank branch manager (kacab) in Jakarta, initialled MIP (37).

Initially, the Military Auditor from the Military Audit II-07 Jakarta, Major (Chk) Wasinton Marpaung, elicited testimony from the fourth witness, Antonius Aditia Majarjuna, concerning the flow of funds and cost agreements in the planned action.

“As far as I remember, at that time it was agreed at around Rp60 million,” said Antonius during the witness examination hearing at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Monday.

Antonius explained that during a meeting around mid-August, the need for operational funds to execute the plan was discussed.

Those funds, he continued, were intended for the implementing team, consisting of several individuals including Serka MN (defendant 1) and Yohanes Joko Pamuntas (witness 5), along with their associates.

He also mentioned that the money came from the personal funds of Dwi Hartono (witness 3), who was identified as the party initiating the plan.

“The money was from Mr Dwi, personal money,” said Antonius.

However, the payment of those funds was not made immediately on the first day of the meeting. Antonius stated that the handover of the money was only revisited in a follow-up meeting on 18 August, which took place at a dining venue.

In that meeting, the same parties were present, including Dwi Hartono, Antonius, Joko, and Serka MN. The discussion focused on the technicalities of payment and the timing of the plan’s execution.

“After that, Mas Joko said Rp60 million wouldn’t suffice, he asked for Rp200 million,” said Antonius.

However, Dwi Hartono rejected the request and insisted he could only provide Rp60 million.

In fact, Dwi was said to have stated that the plan did not need to proceed if the demanded amount exceeded his capacity.

Despite the back-and-forth, the discussion did not end there. Antonius revealed that Dwi then offered an alternative scheme, namely an additional large reward if the plan was successfully executed.

“Mr Dwi said that if the job succeeds, there would be an additional Rp5 billion,” said Antonius.

That statement raises suspicions that the value of the funds intended to be transferred in the plan reached a very large figure. When probed further by the auditor, Antonius admitted he did not know the exact total amount targeted.

“I know it’s large, but I don’t understand the precise amount. The ones who know are Mr Dwi and Candy alias Ken (witness 2),” said Antonius.

The auditor then logically assessed that if the promised bonus reached Rp5 billion, the value of the funds to be shifted was likely far greater than that figure.

This testimony further clarifies the meticulous planning regarding operational financing up to the profit-sharing scheme in the alleged criminal action.

The trial will continue with the examination of other witnesses to fully uncover the roles of each party in this case.
