Prominent Figures Gather at Jogja Financial Festival 2026
The Jogja Financial Festival (JFF) 2026, held at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC), concluded successfully. The two-day event featured prominent figures and leaders of renowned companies discussing perspectives on enhancing financial literacy within the community.
Anggito Abimanyu, Commissioner of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), attended the event and encouraged students to utilise the festival to develop their personal qualities and explore financial potential. “The financial sector requires discipline, good governance, and human resource empowerment to be profitable,” Abimanyu stated on Saturday (23/5/2026).
The Deputy Mayor of Yogyakarta, Wawan Harmawan, expressed his enthusiasm for the festival, noting its positive impact on Yogyakarta’s economy. He highlighted that such events contribute to the ‘crowd economy’ that drives local growth.
Similarly, the Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Mukhamad Misbakhun, urged students to strengthen their personal capacity to succeed in the technological era. He cited CT Corp Founder and Chairman Chairul Tanjung as an example of how personal excellence can lead to success regardless of one’s background.
During the Business Talks session, top executives from Indonesia’s major banks discussed the role of banking in driving the economy and improving financial inclusion. Hery Gunardi, President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), spoke about the evolution of banking and its intermediary function. He noted that BRI’s digital transformation, specifically through the Brimo Mobile Banking app, has reached nearly 60 million users, with daily transactions amounting to Rp32 trillion.
Nixon LP Napitupulu, President Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN), emphasised the bank’s focus on subsidised mortgage (KPR) programmes and digitalisation to expand financial inclusion, particularly for the unbanked population. Meanwhile, Anggoro Eko Cahysto, President Director of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI), highlighted the role of Islamic banking in fostering a fair and sustainable economy by supporting SMEs and integrating into the halal ecosystem.
Furthermore, Abu Santosa Sudradjat, Director of Treasury & International Banking at PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI), discussed how digitalisation and global networks serve as BNI’s strengths in helping Indonesian businesses penetrate international markets. BNI currently operates eight financial centres and ten international branches, acting as a gateway between Indonesia and the global market.
